Debkeh performances, traditional arab folk dancing, have been the New Generation of Palestine's main source of financial support over the past ten years. Because the N.G.P is entirely created and operated by N.G.P youth, and is a non-profit organization, all N.G.P. activities have had to be financed by donations the youth group has recieved in return for entertainment provided by our debkeh performers. All other revenues have been generated through membership fees and various fund raising activities.
Today, the N.G.P continues to learn the many forms and styles of debkeh, and performs as often as possible. The debkeh performances have not only been a wonderful form of financial support, but also have played a major role in introducing American born Palestinians to the culture and tradions of their homeland, Palestine. Today there are about 20 performers who are active in our debkeh group.
THE N.G.P DEBKEH GROUP IS FOR HIRE. ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT PALESTINIAN CHARITIES OR WORK TO KEEP THE NEW GENERATION OF PALESTINE AN ACTIVE YOUTH GROUP.
